Book Travelling Thursdays #5

Hey guys, it's Thursday so you know what that means! Book Travelling Thursday is a weekly post created by Catia where we discuss book covers related to a certain theme. If you would like to join the group, or just some more information, I will leave the Goodreads page linked here.

This weeks theme is: Valentine's Day is just around the corner... Choose a book that deals with first love.

For this week I'm choosing a book I read last year and really enjoyed which is My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. This is a cutesy story about first
love (obviously) and family and how opposites sometimes do attract.

Original cover:

My Life Next Door

The original cover is one I really like and so will talk about it more in the next section but I love how summery it feels and the little specs of light are a really nice touch and the bright colours especially the yellow also convey the happiness and summer feel. And the blossom at the top looks cute. And the models look so happy. And I just love this cover. A lot.

Favourite covers:

My Life Next Door   Můj život u sousedů (My Life Next Door, #1)  Mein Sommer nebenan
      (English)                            (Czech)                       (German)

The reason these are my favourite covers are just because I feel they best convey the feel of the book. They're all summery with blue skies and full trees or warm sunsets. I also really like the simplicity of the colours, especially in the last cover. They just make you feel good, and know that the book is going to be full of cuteness.

Least favourite covers:

Quello che c'è tra noi  My Life Next Door  Minha Vida Mora ao Lado
       (Italian)                                      (English)                             (Portuguese)

In all honesty, the first and last aren't actually too bad. I don't hate them or anything like that, they're just my least favourite of all the covers, maybe because of the blurred effect of the last one and I'm not a huge fan of full on faces on covers which could be why I don't like the first. The middle one however, is awful. It looks really cringey and instead of being cute which is clearly the look they went for, it looks like they're eating each others' faces and everything just clashes. The angle really confuses me too, why are they diagonal?

Which of these is your favourite cover?
